Company History
nGran was founded in January of 2002. Since that time,
it has operated as a profitable consultancy offering professional services and
a variety of system, application, and network security analysis tools. The
tools have been developed to identify and prevent complex network security
attacks based on behavioral techniques that identify network security anomalies
in real time, block attacks at the point of origin, and permit the secure
correlation of complex network security problems.
nGran also markets and supports focused development and
security services to Fortune 2000 corporations, federal and state governments
through direct sales and support as well as channel partners.
nGran Founder
JOHN KERIVAN - Managing Partner
Dr. John Kerivan (Jack) is a Managing Partner of nGran, LLC.
His current duties are those of a Senior Business Consulting manager and
technologist that includes managing a group of Professional Services and
development consultants to deliver systems integration, network security
software products and associated services. Jack has been providing network and
security solutions to numerous companies for the past 17 years. He has worked
as a senior technical executive in startups, as well as in major corporations,
developing many network security based applications for large multi vendor
networks. Jack is the lead developer of the Self-Defending Security Test Suite
used to evaluate the resistence of various security software solutions to
improper termination. Jack is also the lead developer for the Sentinel, TAS
Terminator and TAS-Watch security products. He is the primary developer of the
Network Early Warning System (NEWS). NEWS is a suite of security programs that
perform behavioral based security & network analysis, defense, monitoring
and diagnostic checks for computers and communications equipment in LANs or
WANs. Jack has given numerous talks and papers on security solutions, including
a tutorial on "Securing the Enterprise"
at the 2003 IEEE Infocom conference, and "Self Defending Security
Software" at the 2005 Milcom conference. He has also recently published an
article on "Heuristic Security-Testing Methods", in April, 2006 for
the Journal of Digital Forensic Practice. He has held a variety of management
posts in government and industry and is an active member of the IEEE,
Communications Society. He has held technical & management positions in Digital
Equipment Corporation and worked as a Member of the Technical Staff at AT&T
Bell Laboratories. Jack received a B.A. in 1971 from the University
of Massachusetts, an M.A. in 1975 from
the University of Connecticut and completed his formal training with a
Ph.D. in Communications Sciences at the University of Connecticut
in 1978.

Diane Kerivan – Partner
Diane is a founding Partner of nGran, LLC. Her current
duties include nGran accounting and business administration. Diane has worked
in the finance departments of small and medium-sized businesses, the State of
Connecticut, and a large government contractor. Diane has also managed a
payroll service bureau. Her payroll and tax experience has comprised both U.S.
and expat services. Diane earned her BA in English from Salem State University
in 1971, and followed up with numerous business programs.
Scott Krentzman - Partner
Scott
is a Partner of nGran, LLC. His current duties are those of a Senior Business and Operations manager that includes managing a group of Professional Services and development consultants to deliver systems integration, network security software products and associated services, in addition to negotiating and working with third party security solution vendors that facilitate solutions our customers need. Scott also is the marketing partner who is responsible for licensing agreements for nGran technology solutions to outside vendors. Scott has worked as a consultant to this business over the past ten years. Scott has worked as a senior business and marketing executive in both software and hardware and services solutions companies ranging from small businesses to large public corporations. Scott earned an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Sloan School of Management in 1996. He also has a deep technical background from working at Raytheon Corporation, Digital Equipment Corporation and Textron Defense Systems. Scott earned a BS in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University in 1989 and a MS in Electrical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology in 1990.
